Jeremy's going to Indonesia!

I have some pretty awesome news!  If you read the title I bet you can guess what its about.  My baby brother Jeremy has pretty awesome opportunity to go to Indonesia!  Its about a 3 week long mission trip with our church (New Heights) and MAF ( Mission Aviation Fellowship)  In preparation for the trip he is needing to raise funds to go, hence the reason for this post. My mom made a pretty awesome quilt out of fabrics that are from Indonesia, so it has a very special meaning.  Its a perfect lap size quilt and is sure to keep you warm!

Below is his letter he wrote talking about what they will be doing over there.

I’ve been invited to serve as a part of a team on a mission trip to Papua, Indonesia. A bit outrageous to hear right: Jeremy is going on a mission trip! Well, trust me it’s crazy for me to even say. But that is where faith comes in, faith that God can use even me to advance the work in His kingdom. That God will shape me and provide me with the tools necessary to do what is asked of me.

Life isn’t always easy and sometimes it can take everything you have just to show love to those you come into contact with on a daily basis. But I have begun to look at my whole life as a mission field, and not just this trip. It has been amazing to see Him work in my life in preparation for this trip. From the way I communicate with my co-workers and customers, to the students I serve, to the stranger making awkward eye contact with me while we both pump our gas. But now it’s time for me to take these things I’ve learned to another country.

So I will be heading to Papua, Indonesia in the beginning of July for 3 weeks. The team I will be a part of is going to serve an organization by the name of MAF or Mission Aviation Fellowship.  MAF does work and provides aid year-round to the indigenous people of Papua and once a year comes together as an organization for a conference. This is where we come in, as we will be facilitating a camp much like the ones we have here for the children of those missionaries.  We will also have the opportunity to witness to some of the more indigenous areas around us, and tell them about God's love.

I’m guessing you probably don’t know too many people that travel halfway around the world on a regular basis, and there’s good reason for that. One of the biggest ones is cost. It’s not a super affordable thing to do and as a result I am tasked with raising $2000. It’s a fair amount of money that to be honest I don’t have stuffed under my mattress or buried in my backyard somewhere. So here is the part where I ask someone I don’t usually write to for something I don’t usually ask for, money. Would you consider making a donation? You could give a little, or you could give a lot really any would be great if you feel led to give.

But more so than your money I greatly desire your prayers. Because as supportive as those of you might be that read this are of the idea of a mission trip, there are still a lot of people in this world that would stand in opposition. There will be many obstacles that will try to prevent our mission from being a successful one. So I humbly ask for your prayers for: Health, Effectiveness, Courage, Opportunities to be stretched spiritually, as well as any unknown factors we may encounter.

Tillamook Cheese Factory and Cape Lookout State Park

So on Sunday we took a spontaneous trip to the coast. We had been wanting to go, we just didn't have much time, so when church was over we decided to just go for the day. We had so much fun, and the kids really enjoyed it. (Chloe cried when we said we were leaving the beach)

New Cousin, Camping and Boating!

So since its been a while since I've last blogged, I figured I have to cram it all into one.

My brother and sister in law just recently had a baby and she's the cutest thing ever!!

Mom, Coco and I took the kids with us on the Western Washington Shop Hop , and to our amazement we actually finished the shop hop and visited 16 shops along I-5. The kids had fun collecting their own fabric and getting a stamp in their passport.

Over Father's Day weekend we went camping with Damon's family to Foster Lake. We had lots of fun just hanging out, riding bikes, throwing rocks in the river, and roasting gigantic marshmallow's. (minus my allergy's/asthma acting up) So it rained a little...whats new its the Northwest.

Then, this last week has been a whirl wind, and we got to end it with some fun! Some friends of ours invited us out on there boat, and we were all excited to go! The kids had never been on a boat before and had a total blast being pulled in an inner tube. The kids with there friends....Ready to go! They want to go faster!

P.S. Evan also learned how to ride his bike with no training wheels. Although he hasn't mastered how to stop or start yet. But....he learned in a day!

Just an update. :)

This year we went down to the Woodburn Tulip fields. Its always so beautiful, and the kids have loads of fun!Evan......just being Evan.I'm not sure this is a style Damon and I should go with. :)I took the week of Chloe's spring break off, and Mom and I took the kids to the zoo. The Oregon Zoo is getting better and better every time we go. This time they have lions and the day we went was the first day of sun all week, and so ALL the animals were out sunbathing.The Lions looked just like the Lion King up on pride rock. Evan thought the lion statue needed its nose cleaned.
Chloe liked the little lion cub. Why do kids CLIMB on everything! Hope everyone is doing well.

Bowling with the kids

So last Sunday a boy from Chloes class had a birthday party at Big Al's bowling alley. That place is ridiculous! I could believe how huge it was. We have never taken the kids bowling, so this was a first for them. They loved it!

These two just get me everytime. They love hanging out, and doing things together. Too cute!Chloe tried her hardest to make sure that her fingers were at least in the finger holes before she tried to throw it down the alley.Evan could barely hold the ball up, but he insisted on doing it himself.We went bowling for a party for a classmate of Chloe's, here she is with the birthday boy.
